Project: CSCW 2000 Video CD (content).

Concept: Make video program content more easily browsable and accessible in a digital form; which to date was only viewable via VHS player.

Implementation: We used FXPal's video browsing technology to provide visual summary and random access of the videos encoded in MPEG format. This included an applet for presenting the video summary in Japanese Manga format. Video playback was done with Windows Media player. We created the CD cover using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. We developed the Web pages for each of the videos, the table of content's view, and Javascript for launching and priming the Windows Media player to begin playback at the selected points.
